Vestas wins 96MW order from Stena

SWEDEN: Vestas has been handed a 96MW deal with the renewables arm of Swedish industrial giant Stena Renewables for a project in southern Sweden.

The deal is for 32 V112 3MW turbines to go to the Lemnhult project in Vetlanda municipality. It includes a 15-year service agreement.

According to Vestas, the project is scheduled to come online in April 2013. The turbines will be delivered in August 2012.

This year Stena has been increasing its activity in the wind sector. In June, the company signed a contract to deploy 40 of GE's 2.5-100 wind turbines for installation at four new wind farms in the south of the country.

The GE turbines will be delivered to four new wind farms in the municipalities of Laholm, Boxholm and Mjölby. They are to be built between late 2011 and mid-2012.
