Fujifilm launches 10MW wind project

NETHERLANDS: Film brand Fujifilm has brought online its 10MW wind farm at its manufacturing facility in Tilburg, the Netherlands.

The wind farm uses five Vestas V90 2MW turbines, which could provide around 20% of the electricity used at the site.

Fujifilm is one of a number of consumer brands to have branched off into wind energy and acquired projects. These include Ikea and Google.

However, the Tilburg wind farm is the first large-scale project to be built on and send power to an actual manufacturing plant.

The Fujifilm announcement comes on the day WindMade, the new Vestas-backed wind energy consumer standard, is set to announce its first brand partners.
