The vessel will be built by Javelin International and KD Workboats and will be equipped with two 1,300 horsepower engines. It and will be capable of operating in wave heights of up to four metres.
As a result of the acquisition, Braveheart's operational capacity will be extended by 200 miles and allow it access to many of the North Sea projects. The company operates out of the Dutch port of Vlissingen/ Flushing. It will be delivered in May 2012.
Jelie Hakvoort, MD of Braveheart Shipping, based in the Dutch Ijsselmeer port of Urk said: "This vessel is equipped with at least equal technology to vessels twice as long. It also offers provisions for non-stop service."
