The move follows last month’s decision by Siemens to split its wind division of solar and hydro, and create two separate arms. However, former Siemens Wind Power CEO Jens-Peter Saul will play no part in the new structure.
In August, Siemens said the new Wind Power division will be headed up by Felix Ferlemann, currently head of the chassis systems division of Benteler Automotive.
The company said the change was due to differences in the two markets’ maturity. The Wind Power division will be split into three business units for Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.
At the time of the announcement, Siemens said Saul was likely to head up one of the three business divisions. However, all three roles have been taken up by other Siemens executives. The company was unable to confirm what position Saul would be taking.
Siemens’ EMEA division will be headed up by Jan Kjaersgaard who was responsible for the company’s North American wind business.
Siemens vice president for sales Mark Albenze will be CEO of the Americas group, which will be based in Florida. Kay Weber, general manager Siemens Asia-Pacific Energy Services business, will become CEO of the Asia-Pacific group.
The company has also appointed its Industry Solution division CFO, Wolfgang Hermann, to the same role with the Wind Power division.
