Gamesa chief executive Jorge Calvet said the company was talking to utilities that were active in the UK, Germany, Belgium, France and Holland. The company is currently developing the G11X turbine at its R&D facility in Virginia.
Calvet was speaking at an event in England to announce Gamesa’s sponsorship of a yacht for the 2012
In January, Gamesa received an order from E.ON for the manufacturer's new offshore wind turbine, the G11X-5.0MW.
Gamesa's G10X-4.5MW turbine will provide the platform for the G11X.
The manufacturer is developing the turbine with Northrup Grumman Shipbuilding and plans to test the platform in the fourth quarter of 2012, with the turbine ready in 2013.
