Nordex secures first Romanian orders

ROMANIA: Nordex has secured a 20MW order for two projects in Romania and the company's first in eastern Europe.

Nordex's N100 turbine will be used on the project

The deal, with two unnamed customers, is for two sets of two N100 2.5MW turbines. The projects are expected to be online by the end of the year.

Additionally, Nordex said it plans to focus on the Polish market. Currently, it has 93MW connected to the grid and will have 50MW installed by the end of 2011.

Nordex said it expects this figure to rise to 100MW a year with demand driven by its N117/2400 low wind-speed turbine. It did not say when it hoped to hit this target.

According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç's Windicator, at the end of July 2011, Poland had a combined wind capacity of 1,180MW.
