According to Bloomberg, the project is set to be built in Rodopi, northern Greece. Under the agreement, Sinovel would become an equity partner while PPC could have access to project-financing from China.
The two companies signed a strategic-alliance agreement in April, although no firm plans were made.
The deal could see Greece get its first wind manufacturing plant. PPC chief executive Ioannis Tsipouridis said Greece could give China's manufacturers an opportunity to target a wide number of European markets.
This is not Sinovel's only European project. In July, it signed a deal with Irish developer Mainstream Renewable Power that could see 1GW of wind projects built in Ireland over the next five years.
