Vestas intensifies EU lobbying with new office

EUROPE: Vestas has opened an ‘EU Representative’ office in Brussels as it seeks to improve its position with EU policymakers.

The new office is headed up by Vestas director of European affairs, Emmanuelle Raoult and will coordinate Vestas’ lobbying efforts within the EU. Prior to taking up the new role, Raoult was a PR director for Vestas in Paris.

In a statement, Vestas said all of its EU lobbying activities needed to be approved and coordinated by the EU Representative Office.

Speaking about the move, Vestas SVP Peter Brun said: "Vestas Government Relations has been actively engaged in EU affairs for several years since the creation of the department in 2005.

"But the opening of the new Representative Office is a recognition of the enhanced role Vestas can hold in advocacy and lobbying activities with EU stakeholders by establishing a permanent presence in Brussels."

Raoult  said: "The office will represent Vestas in all EU-related policy affairs, and be a partner to all Vestas' stakeholders to assist in the advancement of a renewable-energy future in Europe."
