Wind helps EGP to 43% profit hike

ITALY: Enel Green Power's profits for the first half of the year grew by 43% and wind accounted for the bulk of its installed capacity growth.

The Italian developer and generator grew its installed capacity by 611MW in the first six months of 2011 with wind accounting for 538MW.

Over the same period the group's revenues grew to €1,334 million, an increase of €295 million or 28.4% compared with the €1,039 million posted in the same period of 2010.

Pre-tax profits meanwhile rose to €607 million, up €192 million or 46.3% on the €415 million reported for H1 2010.
