The projects are expected to come online by March next year.
This is not Shanghai’s first deal in India. In April it signed an agreement with KSK Energy to export 250MW.
Yu Yingui, chief financial officer of Shanghai Electric, said India would be a major destination of his company’s export strategy.
Shanghai is one of China’s largest equipment manufacturers. Its main products include 1,000MW-level ultra-super-critical thermal power units and 1,000MW-level nuclear power units.
