Vestas wins 50MW Datang deal for IMAR

CHINA: Vestas has received an 50MW order from China Datang for a project in China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (IMAR).

The project will use V90 2MW turbines

The order consists of 25 units of the V90-2.0 MW wind turbine, and will be installed near the city of Hulunbeier in the north eastern part of the IMAR region.

The contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a service and maintenance agreement. The turbines are scheduled to be delivered in the second quarter of 2011.

The climate in the northeastern part of IMAR where Hulunbeier is located is extremely harsh and hostile during most of the year. The constant wind swept plains and low temperature mean that the window of time where it is possible and safe to install and commission the wind turbines is around five months starting from early May.

Jens Tommerup, president of Vestas China says, "Completing an entire project of 50MW in a window of five months is not easy, but we definitely believe we have the right people for this task."
