Vestas takes 44MW Swedish order

SWEDEN: Vestas has won an order from Eolus Vind to supply 44MW for a project in Sweden.

The project will use Vestas V90 turbines

The Tolvmanstegen wind farm, which is be located in the Stromstad municipality in the south-west of the country, will use 22 V90 2MW turbines.

Installation of the turbines is expected to start in October. The contract includes a five-year service agreement.

Vestas’ recent orders from Sweden have either been for its V90 or V100 turbines. In July, Nasudden Vast Invest, Slitewind AB and Stugyl AB ordered 21 V90 3MW turbines for a project on the island of Gotland, south-east Sweden.

In December, Vestas recieved a contract from RES subsidiary Nordisk Vindkraft to supply 23 of its V100 turbines for a project in the Mala munipicality in southern Sweden.

According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç’s global market status report, in 2010 the Swedish wind energy industry added about 550MW of new capacity, bringing total installed capacity to 2.1GW.
