Nordex to develop 300MW US community project

UNITED STATES: Nordex has signed an agreement to co-develop a 300MW community wind farm in Michigan.

The agreement has been made between Nordex and the Beebe Community Wind Farm. The Gratiot County-based project will use 125 N117-2.4MW turbines.

Nordex said the project, which will be built in 2012, was initiated by a local resident Mark Hull. PPA discussions are underway.

Speaking about the deal, Hull said: "We were initially interested in Nordex’ turbine technology for our class-3 wind site but including them in the project team has considerably accelerated our development efforts."

The order follows the appointment by Nordex of former Alstom sales director Dany St-Pierre as vice-president sales.
