The map provides information about the available wind resource across Lebanon, showing the potential for wind farm development.
Lebanon is planning to generate 12% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2020.
The map was produced as part of the Country Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Demonstration Project for the Recovery of Lebanon (CEDRO).
CEDRO was established in 2007 to implement renewable energy projects and form a national sustainable energy strategy. It is managed by the United Nations Development Corporation and funded by the Spanish government.
GL Garrad Hassan has already produced wind maps for Great Britain, India, Turkey and France.
