GE to supply 45MW to Valorem for French project

FRANCE: GE has won a contract from French developer Valorem to supply 45MW for a project in the Champagne-Ardennes region of north-west France.

GE'2 2.5MW turbine will be used on the project

Under the deal, GE will deliver 18 2.5MW turbines to the Fère-Champenoise development. The wind farm is currently under construction.

The project will consist of three smaller wind farms: Corroy, Euvy and Fère-Champenoise, which will have seven, six and five turbines respectively.

Speaking about the decision to use GE turbines, Valorem president Jean-Yves Grandidier said he believed the GE 2.5 was well-suited for the region.

He said: "The turbine offers a high level of efficiency and annual energy production thanks to its 100-metre diameter."
