Invenergy sellls 150MW project to NextEra

UNITED STATES: Invenergy Wind North America is to sell its 150MW White Oak Energy Center to an affiliate of NextEra Energy Resources.

White Oak is a 100-turbine project with a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority. It is currently under construction in McLean County, Illinois and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2011.

The transfer of ownership is subject to the completion of construction by Invenergy.

Last month, NextEra was ordered in California’s Altamont Pass by 2015 because of bird kills.
