RES wins planning approval for 300MW Minnesota project

UNITED STATES: Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES) has won final planning approval for a 300MW wind project in south-east Minnesota.

The proposed Pleasant Valley project, in Mower County, now has the go-ahead from planners to start construction – approval for three substations and two transmission lines.

However, final approval must come from the state Public Utilities Commission. RES had recently clinched a site permit and a state certificate of need.

Construction could start in the summer. RES has not yet selected the turbines for the project.
