Jordan shortlists renewables fund consultants

JORDAN: Jordan's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has shortlisted six consultancies bidding for the contract to provide advisory services for its renewable energy support fund.

The companies are: IPA Energy & Water Economics and Ernst & Young, both from Britain; Fichtner from Germany; Taylor-DeJongh from the US; Econoler from Canada; and Poland's GreenMax Capital Advisor.

The successful candidate will provide technical, financial, legal and institutional advisory services for the establishment and first operational phase of the fund.

The Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund was created under the renewable energy law passed last February.

It will channel financial support provided by international donors and the Jordanian government to facilitate renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

Jordan has two wind power projects with a combined capacity of 1.45MW.
