Croatia raises wind capacity with third project

CROATIA: At the end of November a third wind farm is to be put into operation in Croatia's Sibenik-Knin County, consolidating the country's position as the Balkans' wind leader.

Leitwind's LWT-77 turbine will be used in the project
Excavation work on the construction of the wind farm started in July at Crno Brdo near Sibenik, between the Podi business zone and the towns of Vrpolje and Danilo.

The completion of work is expected by the end of autumn of this year. The €14.2million project is being developed by Sibenik-based company Tudic Elektrocentar, together with an unnamed Indian partner.

A total of seven wind turbines will be installed, with an overall capacity of 11MW. The 1.5MW turbines and wind blades have already been ordered from Austria’s Leitwind.
