The chosen consultancy company will help the Yemeni authorities evaluate the bids, prepare the contract agreements and supervise the operation and maintenance of the plant.
This will be followed in October by a competitive tendering process for a contractor to build the plant, including supply, delivery and installation of turbines, civil works and electrical works necessary for grid connection.
The World Bank is supporting the project through its Global Environment Facility.
