LM Wind Power launches US service centres

US: LM Wind Power Service & Logistics has opened two new US service centres, in Iowa and Texas, with the aim of improving customer access to services.

LM Wind Power - the blade manufacturer has six service centres in North America

LM’s Eldridge, Iowa service centre is less than 20 miles from the Illinois border, less than 70 miles from Wisconsin and under 150 miles from Missouri.

The Abilene, Texas service centre lies in an area with a high concentration of wind farms.

Texas has the highest wind capacity in the country, with 9,763MW, and Iowa comes second with 3,669MW. Illinois comes sixth with 1,847MW.

That centre will serve as a "southern operations base" for wind farms in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico, the company said.

The two openings bring LM’s number of North American service centres to six.

The company says that more than 90% of the continent’s installed wind capacity is within eight hours’ drive of an LM service centre.

LM Wind Power Service & Logistics offers inspection, repair, overhaul, preventive maintenance, blade logistics and other services. It is part of the LM Wind Power Group, which also includes LM Wind Power Blades.
