The wind farm, which is jointly-owned by Vattenfall and Dong Energy, suffered an earth failure on the 34KV main bushbar. Vattenfall, which owns 60% of Horns Rev I, said it was still analyzing the reasons behind the fault.
However, the wind farm is likely to be back up and running by the end of next week. A Vattenfall spokeswoman said the replacement parts had been brought in and were in the process of being installed by Siemens.
The shutdown is the latest issue to hit Horns Rev I. The wind farm has been one of a number of offshore developments to be affected by a design flaw in the foundation that causes the turbine towers to shift.
Two years after Horns Rev I was built in 2002, Vestas was forced to replace faulty transformers and generators. The job involved removing the nacelles on 80 2MW turbines.
