Reilly replaces Craig Mataczynski who resigned from the role last month to "pursue other opportunities in his professional", according to the company. He had been in the role since 2005.
RES said Reilly, who has been with the company since January, will continue to contribute to work with the group on a strategic level.
Wind energy projects Mataczynski has overseen during his time at the helm include the development of a 1.25GW wind farm planned with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) and the sale of the 140.4 MW Marengo wind project to MidAmerican Energy Holdings in 2006. Both projects are in Washington state.
Speaking about to appointment RES Group CEO Ian Mays said: "I am delighted to be able to announce the appointment of Susan to this senior position in our growing business. There are great opportunities for RES in the Americas region over the coming years, building on the achievements of the current regional management team."
