Wind Wire: France - UK firm builds French presence
Eole RES, the French subsidiary of the UK's Renewable Energy Systems (RES), has contracted Repower to supply 26 2MW turbines to the Langres Sud project, currently under construction. Located in the Haute-Marne departement of north-east France, Langres Sud is expected to annually generate nearly 120GWh after commissioning in late 2010. This will take Eole RES's total annual output to more than 1TWh, out of 7.6TWh for the whole of France, according to figures released by grid operator RTE. To date, Eole RES has 400MW of wind capacity either operating or under construction.
